This is what everyone wants to know
"how big is your network?". The answer
is not quite that easy as over the past
2 years our network has grown
considerably and is spread over quite a distance.
Anyway for the 'Techies' of the world
here's a brief overview to keep you
happy :-)
Keele (Main NOC)
Fed from Manchester and Hanley by multiple Fibre
providers and our own Microwave infrastructure and has
transit feeds totalling 234Mb/s. This site houses our
primary Data Centre capable of housing 400 servers and
houses our Dial-Up Platform. It has dual independent Air
Conditioning Units and dual On-Line UPS systems and is
backed up by a 110KVA 3 phase generator.
Hanley (Head Office)
This site is fed by 3 feeds with a external capacity of
210Mb/s. This site is a feeder site and a disaster recovery
site for Keele. It also has air conditioning, UPS and backup
generator as Keele.
Manchester
We have 2 sites in Manchester (1 is a disaster recovery
site for the primary).
The primary site has external feeds of 1.55Gb/s (that's
1,550Mb/s), this is a managed facility (TeleCity)
and of course has UPS, Generators, Air Conditioning etc...
This site is where our Broadband services are located and
run from.
In addition to the 3 main sites we also operate a private
Microwave and Leased line network throughout Staffordshire
and Cheshire for providing local loop services.
We have positioned our network to enable us to
interconnect with many other telecommunication operators
thus allowing us to buy wholesale circuits from them to
deliver local loop connections from all around the UK at
competitive costs.
