Which Firewall Option?

Your Own Firewall

If you have your own ICSA certified firewall then you may house this in the facility to protect your servers and services, this simply counts as a device. This provides you with the maximum choice and options as everything is in your own control and ownership. IC can supply firewalls if required, see www.internet-central.net/ic-secure for more options.

IC - Shared Firewall (per server / device)

Only have a single server and do not want the hassle and expense of managing your own firewall? A shared managed firewall could be your answer. IC will provide a connection to your server / device from a communal firewall with a standard set of ports open to the outside world thus reducing your potential security risks considerably. You should note that your server will be located along side other customers servers and that the firewall will only prevent attack from external sources (i.e. not another customers server on the same sahred firewall). All bandwidth is measured from the switchport and is billed acordingly.

IC - Virtual Dedicated Firewall

If you want the ultimate security cover and flexibilty without the management worries and workloads then why not have your very own fully managed firewall solution. The solution provides protection from Fortinet's Fortigate security solutions so you will have full AntiVirus, Intrusion Protection, Full Unified Threat Management (UTM) protection which is frequently updated to cover new threats. You can have VPN secure connections into your server environment and all your devices will be VLAN connected together into the network. Bandwidth is measuerd to the outside world from the firewall so all inter-server / inter-device traffic is not counted in any of your totals.
