*The contention ratio's quoted above of 20:1 and 50:1 mean that you share the speed purchased i.e. 512Kb/s with either 20 or 50 other subscribers hence the speed quoted is the maximum you could receive if the network was not busy.

**Migration is not supported by all providers and the free migration is subject to the customer remaining connected for a minimum period of 12 months else a cancellation charge equivalent to the connection fee will be levied.

***When using the service the local ISP will charge you for using their connection and the phonebook will contain the available connections and the rate charged for use. All bills for usage are sent to ourselves and we will send a consolidated bill monthly. Please note that connections made from hotels may be charged by the hotels at a premium. Some ISP's may provide freephone numbers for access please always check the phonebook and call charges to the ISP carefully.

ADSL put simply is a permanent high speed connection to the Internet which is presented over your existing BT phone line, whilst using ADSL you can still make and receive telephone calls as before and still charged as before but anything you do over the ADSL line is at a fixed cost. All you do is plug in a splitter device which separates the two signals from your single line into 2.
